1. Who we are
Life Minder is provided by Downey Tech (“Life Minder,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Questions about this policy or privacy requests can be sent to support@downeytech.com.
2. Information handled by the app
Information you choose to enter
Depending on the features you use, Life Minder may store:
- Medication names, identifiers, dose amounts, dose times, routes, injection sites, schedules, and notes.
- Vitamins, supplements, other medication reminders, personal routines, and completion history.
- Food names, barcodes, nutrition values, serving information, meal notes, and meal photos.
- Protein, fiber, and water goals and logs.
- Symptoms, severity, timing, and notes.
- Weight check-ins and progress photos.
- Notification, onboarding, and connection preferences.
Apple Health information
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Life Minder requests read-only access to body-mass entries. Shared weight values, dates, and HealthKit sample identifiers are copied into Life Minder so they can appear in your Journey. Life Minder does not write data to Apple Health. You can change Health access at any time in iOS Settings or the Health app.
Photos and camera access
Photos you select for meals or progress tracking are stored inside Life Minder’s local archive. The camera is used to recognize supported food barcodes. Life Minder does not upload selected photos for image recognition or advertising.
Support communications
If you email support, we receive the information you include, such as your email address, device details, app version, screenshots, and message. Please do not send unnecessary medical details.
3. Where your tracker data is stored
Life Minder stores its user archive locally in the app’s private storage on your device. Life Minder does not create a user account and does not sync this archive through CloudKit or another Life Minder cloud service.
You can create an open JSON backup from You → Data & backups → Export JSON archive. An exported file may contain sensitive tracker data and Base64-encoded photos. After export, the file is stored wherever you choose and is governed by the security and sharing settings of that location. Life Minder does not control exported copies.
4. When information is sent to other services
Most Life Minder activity stays on the device. The following optional lookup features make network requests:
- Open Food Facts: a scanned or entered barcode is sent to retrieve packaged-food information.
- USDA FoodData Central: a food search term or barcode fallback is sent to retrieve nutrition information.
- RxNorm: a medication search term is sent to retrieve normalized medication names and identifiers.
- DailyMed: an RxNorm identifier is sent to retrieve available official product-label references.
These providers receive the request and standard network information such as an IP address and user agent. Their handling of information is governed by their own policies. Life Minder does not send your full journal, symptom notes, progress photos, or Apple Health data with these lookup requests.
On-device insights
When supported Apple Intelligence features are available, Life Minder prepares a limited summary of recent tracking data and processes it using Apple’s on-device Foundation Models framework. Life Minder does not send that summary to Downey Tech or an external AI API.
Notifications
Dose and routine reminders use Apple’s local notification system. Notification timing and text are scheduled on your device. Notification delivery can be affected by device settings, Focus modes, system conditions, and permissions.
5. How we use information
Life Minder uses information only to provide the features you request, including displaying your timeline, calculating user-entered routine timing, building weight trends, preparing on-device insights, importing or exporting your archive, and responding to support requests.
Life Minder does not:
- Sell personal or health information.
- Use HealthKit or tracker data for advertising, marketing profiles, or data-broker purposes.
- Serve third-party behavioral advertising.
- Provide tracker data to employers, insurers, healthcare providers, or pharmaceutical companies.
- Use an external analytics SDK in the current version.
6. Retention, export, and deletion
Local data remains on your device until you delete individual entries, use You → Start fresh → Delete all user data, or remove the app. Start Fresh deletes Life Minder’s local tracker entries, settings, routines, photos, imported Apple Health copies, and scheduled reminders, then returns the app to onboarding. It does not delete the original records in Apple Health.
Before deleting, you may export a JSON backup. Deleting Life Minder data cannot delete copies you previously exported, shared, or backed up through device-level services you control.
Support emails are retained only as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain service records, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations.
7. Security
Life Minder uses Apple platform protections and the app’s private container for local data. No system is perfectly secure. Protect your device with a passcode, keep iOS current, and treat exported JSON files as sensitive health records.
8. Children’s privacy
Life Minder is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A minor should use the app only with involvement from a parent or legal guardian and an appropriate healthcare professional.
9. Your choices and rights
You can review and delete entries in the app, turn reminders off, revoke Apple Health or photo access in system settings, export a portable JSON copy, import a backup, or delete all Life Minder data. Depending on where you live, you may also have legal rights concerning personal information contained in support communications. Contact us to make a request.
10. This website
The Life Minder website does not include advertising, analytics, or marketing cookies. It is hosted using GitHub Pages. GitHub may process standard technical information needed to deliver and secure the site under the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Life Minder changes. The updated policy will be posted here with a revised effective or last-updated date. Material changes may also be highlighted in the app or App Store listing where appropriate.
